The contribution of the human sciences to the survivals of the 1973 coup d’etat. Forty years and more for a democratic rupture in Chile (Abstract)

The survivals of the 1973 coup d’etat in Chile, and the memories that have antagonized as their utcomes, are associated with certain developments in the human sciences. In their hegemonic version, they have approached the Chilean dictatorship as a historical exception. Conversely, some counter-hegemonic historiography has demonstrated the close relationship between the Chilean dictatorship and democracy, discovering in such a relationship the basis of a device for the contain- ment of the sovereignty and poder popular. The thesis of the 1973 coup d’etat as an exception to the legal institutions, reveal a political system that look for immunizing the Chilean society of its alleged violence by other legally administered violence. This political system is blocking the life’s forces in common, but it is not achieving to hide the path breaking of a democratic mark, which inhere we call as Mariateguist-libertarian.
